About Alan Jackson
Alan Eugene Jackson was born October 17, 1958 in Newman, GA. He grew up listening to gospel music but a friend turned him onto country great, Gene Watson, John Anderson, and Hank Williams Jr. In the early 80’s he moved to Nashville with his wife.
Alan Jackson’s wife was waiting at the airport one day when she ran Glen Campbell. She gave him one of Alan’s demo tapes and Campbell liked what he heard so he signed Jackson on as a writer at Seventh Son. Yes, this is how Jackson got his start in the country music business.
Arista Records came calling in 1989 and Jackson was the first country music singer they signed. One year later Jackson released his debut album Here in the Real World which contained the singles, "Blue Blooded Woman," "Here in the Real World," "Wanted," "Chasin' That Neon Rainbow," and "I'd Love You All Over Again." One year after that Jackson released his second album, Don't Rock the Jukebox, which contained the hit singles "Don't Rock the Jukebox," "Some Day," "Dallas," "Midnight in Montgomery," and "Love's Got a Hold on You.
It only took two albums to make Alan Jackson a country music mega-star. His combination of blending traditional honky tonk and mainstream country sounds was exactly what Nashville was looking for. To date he has recorded 15 studio albums, three greatest hits albums, two Christmas albums, two gospel albums and several compilations.
Jackson has sold over 80 million records worldwide. He has won two Grammy Awards, 16 CMA Awards, 17 ACM Awards over his career. He is a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001. See his tour schedule above and find your tickets today at CapitalCityTickets.com.
