Formed in 1980 out of Milwaukee, WI, the Violent Femmes are a folk-rock band consisting of singer, guitarist and songwriter Gordon Gano, bassist Brian Ritchie, and current drummer John Sparrow. The band broke up in 2009 buy have been active touring since 2013. The band found immediate success with the release of their self-titled debut album in 1983. Featuring hits such as “Blister in the Sun”, “Kiss Off”, “Add It Up” and “Gone Daddy Gone”.
