Fans of Game of Thrones will be able to enjoy the music of the hit TV series live in concert on a 360-degree stage starting next February. The show’s composer, Ramin Djawadi, will conduct an 80-piece orchestra and choir who will perform some of the most memorable music from the show in a series of arena concerts across the United States and Canada.
The tour was announced at an event at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles on August 8. The event was attended by hundreds of Game of Thrones fans. It began with a performance of the show’s theme by the University of Southern California’s marching band.
Visual effects, such as LED telescoping, wall screens, and 3D designs, will bring the action to life as the music is performed. Djawadi and the rest of the team planning the concerts wanted to create an immersive experience for audience members.
According to Djawadi, the tour came about because the producers of Game of Thrones said they wished they could see the music from the show performed live. The series uses many unusual instruments to convey the highs and lows of the story and the conflicting emotions of the characters.
Some musicians will travel with the tour, while others may be hired at cities along the way. The soloists will travel with the touring group.
