When and Where is the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival?

The events of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend will take place in the Hall of Fame’s hometown of Canton, Ohio at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium on the weekend of August 5^th, 6^th, and 7^th, 2016.

What Are the Events?

Concert for Legends with Tim McGraw

The weekend kicks off with a concert by country music superstar Tim McGraw on Friday, August 5^th at 8:00 PM. The concert will be held at the newly renovated Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

“I love football. It teaches us so much about life, commitment, courage and integrity,” McGraw said in a press release about the event. McGraw is also an actor who has starred in football films like Friday Night Lights, and recently co-produced and narrated a documentary about 2016 Hall of Fame inductee Brett Favre, called Favre Returns.

2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony

Tim McGraw’s performance will be followed by the main event: the Enshrinement Ceremony, when the class of 2016 is officially inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 6^th at 7:00 PM at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. This year’s inductees are legendary quarterback Brett Favre, coach Tony Dungy, linebacker Kevin Greene, wide receiver Marvin Harrison, tackle Orlando Pace, quarterback Ken Stabler, guard Dick Stanfel, and former San Francisco 49ers owner Edward DeBartolo Jr.

“Did I think that it was too good to be true?” DeBartolo asked reporters, “I certainly did.”

Pro Football Hall of Fame Game

Concluding the Festival (and kicking off the 2016 NFL preseason) is the annual Hall of Fame exhibition game on Sunday, August 7^th at the Tom Benson Stadium. The game is played between two different teams every year. This year’s game will be a showdown between the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts.

The teams were selected by the Hall of Fame committee because of their connections to 2016 inductees former Packers QB Brett Favre, former Colts coach Dungy, and former Colts WR Harrison.
