Prophets of Rage, a supergroup consisting of members of Rage Against the Machine, Cypress Hill, and Public Enemy, are planning to release their debut EP to coincide with the start of their tour later this week. The EP will be titled The Party’s Over and will be released on August 26.
The members announced in May that they were forming the band to protest the 2016 election. Prophets of Rage played a protest concert at the Republican National Convention. The group’s members include B-Real, Chuck D, DJ Lord, Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk.
New EP to Have Five Songs, Including Three Live
The EP will include five songs and will be released by Caroline Records. Three of the songs will be live recordings. The band recorded live performances of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing in the Name,” Public Enemy’s “Shut ‘Em Down,” and a remake of the Beastie Boys’ hit “No Sleep Til Brooklyn” that is called “No Sleep Til Cleveland.” The EP will also include studio recordings of two songs, “The Party’s Over” and “Prophets of Rage” by Public Enemy.
