With Super Bowl 50 (no Roman numerals this year) right around the corner, we thought you might want to know about some of the events taking place leading up to the big day. If you were only planning to attend the game, you might want to add a few events–and days in San Francisco–to your itinerary.
One of the most anticipated events, aside from the game itself, is the Halftime Show. Headlining the show will be the band Coldplay. The band’s seventh album—titled ‘A Head Full of Dreams’—dropped in December 2015.
But they won’t be performing alone. The band’s front man, Chris Martin, is designing the event. He’s even participating in webisodes that document his plans. Rumors abound as to who might join him on the field to celebrate this historical event. We will say this—recent buzz has been dropping some pretty big music-industry names, including Beyoncé.
For those lucky enough to be in the San Francisco Bay Area to watch the game in-person, there are two other major events to check out:
Both events run from January 30 – February 7, 2016, and are packed with activities to celebrate the fiftieth year of the Super Bowl.
NFL Experience offers a youth clinic, interactive games, opportunities to meet the participating teams’ players (and get signatures), and more. NFL Experience will be held at the Moscone Center this year. Special attractions will debut for fans—don’t miss this event!
Super Bowl City is a whole village—centered in the Justin Herman Plaza—dedicated to celebrating the Super Bowl. The Host Committee welcomes visitors to enjoy pre-game activities for free.
There are plenty of additional events, too, if you plan to spend more time in San Francisco. A symphony performance, Gospel Celebration, Super Bowl Breakfast, and charity events are just some of the goings-on.
