Green Day is an American punk rock band formed in 1986 in East Bay, California by vocalist/guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt. The band, supposedly named after marijuana, played bars and clubs locally before releasing their debut album, 39/Smooth. Green Day was inspired by bands like No Doubt and Coldplay.

It wasn’t until American Idiot was released that they started their big revival and started selling tickets again! The album won them a Grammy Award for “Best Rock and Album” and in 2004 the album was made into a musical. Green Day began booking shows all over the world including Europe, Australia, and Japan.
Straight out of Wilmette, IL, Fall Out Boy is a rock band consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump, bassist Pete Wentz, lead guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley. In 2003, the group’s debut album Take This to Your Grave was released and became an underground success and helped the band gain a dedicated fan base and selling out venues coast to coast. The band’s 2005 major-label breakthrough, From Under the Cork Tree, produced two hit singles, “Sugar, We’re Goin Down” and “Dance, Dance,” and went double platinum, transforming the group into superstars and making Wentz a celebrity and tabloid fixture. Fall Out Boy received a Best New Artist nomination at the 2006 Grammy Awards.
