The original band consisted of brothers John and Chuck Panozzo, Dennis DeYoung, James Young and John Curulewski. In the early seventies and were signed to the label Wooden Nickel Records under the name TW4. However not long after signing, they changed their name officially to Styx.
The band reached nationwide fame and began to sell out venues when their single “Lady” off the album, Styx II, started getting airplay on the radio. Soon after the band signed to a major label, A&M Records.
Styx continued to release hit after hit in the 70’s and 80’s including singles like “Come Sail Away” (#8), “Babe” (#1), “The Best of Times” (#3), “Too Much Time on My Hands” (#9) and “Mr. Roboto” (#3).
