In 1972, the Texas Rangers joined Major League Baseball (MLB) when the Washington Senators relocated to Texas. The Rangers were received very well by the local baseball fan base and sell out numerous games throughout the season at Globe Life Park in Arlington, TX.
Possibly the most famous Ranger to play baseball for the Lone Star team is Ted Williams. However, even with the great Teddy Ballgame the Rangers were unable to reach the MLB playoffs until 1996. In 2010-2011, the Rangers won the American League Pennant in back to back years.
